Hostile Architect guide
This guide stays inside what SludgeBit has published. The game is unreleased, so there is no tested damage table and no “best build” from a finished run. The loop, the trap library size, and the named devices below are from the store text, the press kit, and the pre-alpha screenshots.
Source notes
This overview uses the official Steam description, press-kit pitch, and labeled pre-alpha screenshots. The screenshots illustrate the shop and hero waves. They are not evidence of tested strategies, damage values, or final balance.
The loop
You are the person who designs the side-scrolling stage. A small budget and a random shop selection come first. The press kit says “Choose wisely.” When you are done building, a wave of heroes is released. If you survive, you expand, and the next crowd is larger.
SludgeBit describes the pace as easy to learn and hard to master, and says you do not need fast reflexes. Steam categories match that claim: playable at your own pace, and playable without timed input.
Where to read next
How to play walks the six beats of the official pitch. The traps page lists only devices that are named in text or labeled in the pre-alpha v0.2.0 shop. The glossary defines the words the studio actually uses.
- 30+ traps and obstacles, and the library is described as still growing
- Upgrades that unlock new uses, plus powers that can snowball
- Named examples: conveyor belts, springboards, lava pits, spike ceilings, saw blades
